Sennelier Spatula

Sennelier painting spatula. Made with a varnished and cured wooden handle and a treated metal blade for various artistic techniques.

The result of painting with a palette knife is very colourful and is capable of creating unique textured strokes.

By using them you create colour fillings that do not mix with the under layers of paint, as happens with the brush. Firstly because the masses of paint you deposit are thicker and more impastoed and secondly because the way they are applied with metal creates clean "strokes".

The soft and luminous planes that you create with this technique are different from the strokes that you can create with different types of brushes. This is due to the shape of the spatula you choose.

The Maison des Senneliers has been a meeting place for artists since 1897. There was a creative effervescence and daily exchanges which gave rise to new techniques and unique colours.
